Unit 1 - Performing
- In Unit 1 you will be guided through a series of tasks including instrumental practice, independent research, and band and individual rehearsals in order to develop performances of existing pieces.
- Your performance can be on any instrument or voice, and in any style or genre, so whatever your interest in music, you will be able to pursue it to the full.
Unit 2 - Creating
- This will allow you to develop knowledge and understanding of the skills and techniques needed to compose an original piece of music. This could be a song, a piece of film music, or anything that you like.
- Compositions can be in any style, including music technology based work that uses recording equipment and computer technology.
Unit 3 - Music In Practice
- Unit 3 introduces you to areas of the music industry that need to be considered when responding to an industry commission.
- You will use the skills learnt during Units 1 and 2 to plan a performance project based on a brief set by the exam board. You will learn how to pitch, plan and develop their ideas to deliver a final project.
